NKUNDA'S BROTHER IN CUSTODY

Reports from the UN sponsored Radio Okapi states that a brother to renegade general Nkunda has been arrested alongside two other CNDP senior officers with an important load of weapons and ammunition.

Since the feud between Laurent Nkunda and his then chief of staff Bosco Ntaganda a few months before the joint operation by DR Congo and Rwanda to oust the CNDP and FDLR, it was clear to everyone that the CNDP was not answering to a single Duce.
Some militants loyal to Bosco Ntaganda joined the DRC and Rwanda in fighting the Hutus and some of theirs answering to Laurent Nkunda. Some of Nkunda's followers crossed to Uganda and the rest vanished in the dense Congolese forest around Masisi.

Radio Okapi had announced that three military officers were arrested at the Bunagana border point between the DRC and Uganda with an important load of weapons, ammunitions and communications kits.

The Congolese army is said to have targeted a group of 10 that later split into even smaller groups. The group of three arrested which included Major SEKO who happens also to be a brother to Laurent Nkunda is the only one into custody since the 22 nd april of this year. Another group of two was fortunate enough to cross the Bunagana border before its interpellation.

The Bunagana crossing point is Nkunda's prefereed destination on his way outside the country. A United Nations reports have also mentioned it several times for having seen CNDP's movements in the region.
