Museveni calls for a nuclear free-world

    President Yoweri Museveni has backed Iran's pursuit for nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. He said it is the right of all countries in the world to access nuclear technology for peaceful purposes such as the generation of electricity, medical uses.
    No chance of new war says president Museveni
    He however stressed that nuclear weapons are dangerous for humanity – even more dangerous than all the other previous weapon systems and called for a nuclear weapons-free world.

    Iran faces a range of UN diplomatic and trade sanctions over its nuclear project.

    President Museveni further stressed that Uganda is ready to cooperate with Iran in all fields stressing that the two countries can complement each other in development and trade.

    President Museveni was speaking last week during a state Banquet with the visiting Iranian President – Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Kampala.
