Mr Tarek Rabaa health has deteriorated in jail

  1. On September 21, 2012 the security forces were not able to drive the engineer Tarek RABAA from the central jail in Roumieh to attend the trial session in the military court in Beirut because of his deteriorated health situation. "Tarek is hardly standing on his feet, he becomes sick, he has been transferred to the medical center in the jail and the doctor has requested to urgently transfer him to the hospital" his lawyer Nada RABAA explained to the head of the court, the general Khalil IBRAHIM. Nada RABAA demanded to release Tarek in order to be able to treat him. The head of the court asked her to submit a demand to clarify his health condition in order to decide on her request.

This court session was supposed to be for hearing the so called witnesses in Tarek's case who are employees working at Alfa, one of the mobile operators in Lebanon. The Alfa's CEO Marwan HAYEK didn't come to the court for the second time because "we didn't find him", the clerk in the court had announced. Then, the general Khalil IBRAHIM commented on this pretext by saying "I wonder how a general manager is not being found" and he decided to summon Marwan HAYEK again. Farid Baz, Tarek's line manager, and Wissam Karam attended the session while Pierre Abi Nader didn't come also.

The session was adjourned till March 2013 after deciding to summon Marwan Hayek (Alfa's CEO), Farid Baz (Tarek's line manager), Wissam Karam (responsible for the OSS-Operation Support subsystem), Pierre Abi Nader (responsible for the maintenance of switching centers) and Tarek's wife.

Observers commented on this session by considering the case as "pending since 2010", and they wonder also the consecutive absenteeism of the Chief Executive Officer of Alfa Marwan Hayek on March 19, 2012 and on September 21, 2012. Marwan had already attended the session on December 12, 2011 and he was escorted by two lawyers, but the session was adjourned at that time because the court which was previously headed by the general Nizar Khalil had refused to consider the arbitrary and unlawful detention in Tarek's case in spite of no single evidence against him and even the court doesn't have a confession. Observers has put a big question mark on the consecutive absenteeism of Marwan HAYEK and they are wondering the presence of 2 lawyers with him when he previously attended for just hearing him as a witness.

From another side, Tarek RABAA has been detained in July 2010 without an arrest warrant. Tarek who is known as a brilliant engineer in Lebanon, hold an engineering degree in telecoms and a master degree in business. On November 9, 2011 Tarek has been announced a victim of torture by seven international organizations which deal with the so called human rights, yet he is still arbitrary detained until today and his health has dramatically deteriorated in prison.

Marwan HAYEK who is currently the CEO for Alfa was recruited by Cellis (now Alfa) in 1995 as a transmission engineer and he worked with Tarek RABAA in the same field. Marwan resigned in 1999 further to internal problems inside Cellis and he has been recruited by Orascom. Before returning to Lebanon in April 2010 as CEO for Alfa, he was a CTO for Mobinil in Egypt and he didn't previously occupy a CEO position. Marwan HAYEK knows also the French director Lionel COUSSI who was working at Cellis in Lebanon between 1994-1996 and then COO (Chief Operations Officer) at Mobinil from 1999 to 2001. The military intelligence in Lebanon had mentioned in the preliminary investigation that Tarek knows Lionel but the first military investigating judge Riad ABU GHAYDA has giving from his mind a ranking to Lionel as an officer in the Israelian intelligence. Tarek has clarified in the court on September 15, 2011 that Lionel Coussi was in Lebanon and he didn't get in contact with him since 1996, and he was a technical director at Cellis.

Alfa is now managed by Orascom which is owned by the Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris. All technical data about Alfa's cellular network are being sent to Orascom holding in Egypt while the ministry of telecom is keeping silent on such issue and the ministers of telecom Jobran BASSIL, Charbel NAHHAS and currently Nicolas SAHNAWI are affiliated to the same political group as Marwan HAYEK, the movement of Michel AOUN. The ex telecom minister Jobran BASSIL has ended the management contract of FAL-DETE in November 2008, he selected Orascom to manage Alfa in 2009 and he launched an extension project for the cellular network. Then, Marwan HAYEK was assigned CEO during the era of the ex-telecom minister Charbel NAHHAS who launched a 60 million dollars fiber optic project which has been approved further to the kidnapping of Tarek RABAA after exploiting his story as a pretext to pretend that fiber optic is safer than microwave links...

This is Lebanon today where the production of movies based on political purposes continue using prisoners with fabricated files without any evidence or confession..
