More than 25 people killed by a traffic accident.

  1. On Friday around 8 p m, a truck trailer hit several transport vehicles. This accident took place near Dabondy Petrol station, Conakry. According to witnesses the driver lost the control of his truck carrying 30 tons of cement hit the vehicles: a motorbike a taxi and a minibus. Many passengers lost their lives during this accident. Witnesses talk about more 30 dead and many injured. Among them, eight passengers in a taxi, two people on a motorbike, a seller and seven other passengers of a bus. The injured are under medical cares in Donka hospital.

The serious traffic accident that occurred on Friday night Dabondy revealed the unconsciousness of some citizens. According to witnesses few minutes after the tragedy, which killed more than 25 people on the spot, some intruders have engaged in theft of goods from the truck and corpses.

"The accident happened in front of me, I saw many dead and wounded, but what I regret more, while some are dying, people began to plunder the trailers and cement and others searching the pockets of victims in search of money before the police come and disperse them." said Saliou Bah, met at Donka mortuary.

This deplorable attitude is not the first in Guinea, last year when the trade unionists Ibrahima Fofana and his colleagues died during an accident on Fria road, some unconscious people palpated the pockets of victims before running off with all the content.

last Saturday President Alpha Conde was at the bedside of the injured. On this occasion, Alpha Conde said, " I will take actions against the trucks and vehicles which are not in good stare. We cannot accept that trucks have brakes that do not work. We will ask the security services to be extremely rigorous. "

Alpha Condé has also presented his condolences to the families of those who died in this accident. " Unfortunately we cannot recognize six bodies, because they had no identity cards. Therefore, the need for all Guineans to have an ID card is required." He added.
This deadly accident which is not the first in the center of the capital raises discussions on road safety.
