The elections process in Kenya has certainly taken a different turn then maybe expected by the likes of the Economist. We have been working with our local reporters to document the events using internet enabled mobile phones. We have succeeded in getting several mobile reports. This is a major accomplishment given the Kenyan govt'. has worked to shut down the media wherever possible.

It is becoming clear to us that in the time of crisis, the mobile phone actually serves as the best tool for collecting and publishing information.

Check out some of the videos and let us know what you think:

Also, if you know of other initiatives working to use the mobile phone in Kenya please feel free to make a posting. Would be great to have a comprehensive overview of everything happening out there.
