Munene Kilongi -- Fatma -- To all the people who check on us on the Mama Nusra website, I would like to wish you a merry Christmas and I will also be celebrating with my brothers and sisters even though I am Muslim.

Sofia Njoki: I am happy for what everyone has done for us and I wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

Mariam Bakari, I give thanks to everyone and wish everyone a merry Christmas.

I am Halima Otieno, I wish all our viewers in the internet a merry Christmas and many blessings.

Mishi Nguli, in this month of December I wish all a good Christmas and a happy new year.

Main story -- Every December, activities by the Nusra women group come to a trickle and this has been a cause of concern for members who now vow to change this trend.

Their long dependence on cooking for the school children lives them virtually with few jobs when they close school for the long December holidays. But despite this they find a few clients here and there who invite them to cook for their parties.

Being in an area that has a high Muslim population does not help much since few people celebrate Christmas. It is this that has led them to try and reach out to new clients as the year begins by taking a new strategy.

Among other factors that have seen them take this new strategy is the rise in food prices which has largely affected their profit margins a lot. But on this day when I meet members of Nusra were in a jovial mood.

``To all the people who check on us on the Mama Nusra website, I would like to wish you a merry Christmas, `` said Fatma Saleh, the group leader. ``I will also be celebrating with my brothers and sisters even though I am Muslim. ``

In 2009 she wants the group to make the next step and take their business up another level despite getting aid from the Voices of Africa foundation.

Sofia Njoki, also wishes a merry Christmas to everyone and all people who come to check their activities every month at the Mama Nusra website. She is optimistic about the prospects of next year since the country is recovering from the slump in business that was caused by the violence early this year triggered by a hung election.

``Next year we hope things will finally work out and hope to uplift our lives, `` she said.

Mariam Bakari, cannot agree more as she wishes more blessings in the year for all people who are supporting them and she sees prosperity beckoning in 2009.

For Halima Otieno, she is not only expecting a 2009 to be a good year but also one that will see some changes and growth in her personal life.

`` I would like to greet all the people who visit our website and to tell them to keep on visiting, `` says Jacinta Awino. ``I hope to God we start 2009 well because this year was not good. I have faith its going to be a good year because I am optimistic, `` she added.

In a slow faltering voice, Mishi Nguli, wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

``I think 2009 will be good to us, their will be peace and development and I expect we will have good business, `` she said.

And everyone in Nairobi wishes Mama Nusra website visitors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
