Speaking in a post-match interview with AfricaNews on phone from Israel, Johnson says he is not discouraged at all with the team’s current standing on the league table and he will fight to the end.

“I am not giving up until the last match of the league. I’ll maintain my level of commitment and will play to my very best. This is a crucial time and I am willing to go all out with all my strength to push the team up. I appeal to my team mates to also show that commitment. This is the time that Maccabi Tel Aviv needs all hands on board to propel the team forward. There is no room for blame game. We need to move forward as one team.

“I want to encourage all my colleagues never to give up. They must rekindle their hopes and see this time as a crucial moment to save Maccabi. I know that with a team spirit we shall move forward. This is why we are here and we must give out all our best. All is not lost yet,” the Liberia international assures.

Johnson, 24, is optimistic that Maccabi’s current situation is just temporal and will pick up soon in the coming days. “I know I have kept my faith all these while and I won’t give in until I see Maccabi soar up.”
