Liberia: President shakes up her cabinet

    Liberia President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made new changes to her administration before leaving for the US, an executive mansion release announced on Tuesday. Africa's only female president is on her routine medical check-up and to officially launch her memoir - "This Child Will Be Great."

    The release stated that the former labour minister Hon. S. Kofi Woods will take over the ministry of Public Works while Hon. Loseni Dunzo will be the new Advisor to the President for Infrastructure.

    Among those whose services were terminated include Deputy Minister of Administration Roderick Smith, Deputy Minister for Technical Services Togba Ngangana, Deputy Minister of Commerce Aletha Browne.

    Other appointees include Dr. Florence Chenoweth, Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Alphonso Gaye Minister of Transport, Hon. Dehkonte King Sackie as Commissioner of Customs, Hon Julius Caesar formerly of the Bureau of the Budget, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Transport for Administration while Hon. Conmany B. Wesseh has been appointed Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the European Union, while Ambassador Younger Telewoda takes up her new assignment as Ambassador to Japan.
