[VIDEO] Despite the post-election violence affecting most parts of the country, the Kenya Association of Tour Operators is optimistic that everything is well.

The tourism sector has been badly hit by the conflict which has forced major tour operators to cancel their bookings.
According to the KATO boss, despite what has happened in the last one week, the tourism sector has remaind operational and Kenya remains a favourable tourist destination.

The sector has recorded huge losses in bed occupancy after the country was rocked with post election violence. However, tourists were not directly affected and the hotels continue to register bookings.

This is the highest season in Kenya and efforts are underway to attract more tourists and help redeem the image of Kenya as a preferable tourist destination.

Get the word out to travellers telling them which areas are safe to go and which areas are unsafe. Provide them with some security. Put the message on Youtube.

Do not stand and stare at me.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die
I am resting, cry for the children of kenya
Cry for my bloved country and its people

When God chose to reveal himself, he did so (suprise of suprise) through a human body. The tongue that called forth the dead was a human one. The hand that touched the leper had dirt under its nails. The feet upon which the woman wept were calloused and dusty. And his tears- oh, don't miss the tears- the came from a heart has brocken has yours or mine ever has been...
So, peoplle came to him! why? because he refused to be a statue in a cathedral or a priest in an elevated pulpit. He chose instead to be jesus. Why is it that we can't chose to be the right leaders?

So, people came to him! why? because he refused to be a statue in a cathedral or a priest in an elevated pulpit. He chose instead to be Jesus. Why is it that we can't chose to be the right leaders? The leaders of the innocent, weak and meek? Leaders of the future not past?
We are seating down and watch our daughters get rapped, how young man get killed and our women treated like they never existed. Can we get a leader who will stand up and work for this people? Can we wipe our tears of pride and wear clothes pain and help? Can you look at the pic and tell me what you see? This is a Kenyan mom, has every right to have food and security, health care and shelter. How long can we see this?
