The aim of the clinic was to treat patients who could not afford to travel to major hospitals or even to pay for hospital costs.

The frequent medical camps in Mundika have benefitted thousands of patients in the past two years.

‘It's a wonderful gift to this community because; it would be able to solve some of the eye problems within the community of Mundika and the sorounding’, says Nelson Otieno Karilus one of the patients who came for the clinic.

Since it's a free service, it would be important that maybe further awareness be done so that those people who were not able to come today to come next time ,but also, it helps alleviate poverty, at least its bridging the gap that where the government is not able to reach, the sabatia eye Hospital is able to do that.

A standard 4 young girl-(grade 4) narrates to the reporter how her eye problem started, her parents kept buying eye drops and most of the time, her mother could go as far as bringing herbal which instead worsened the situation of her eye sight. And this forced her to drop out of school. She's added saying that she's one of the lucky patients who are going to benefit for the free operation at Sabatia Eye Hospital.
