    The Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Ababu Namwamba have told the City Council of Kisumu to relocate the dumpsite away from the Moi Stadium.

    Ababu who was on a tour to inspect the ongoing renovation of the Moi Stadium at a tune of over Shs. 43 million termed the dumpsite as health hazard to those that are using the facility.

    The minister urged the City Council to find out an amicable solution to the dumpsite that has been a menace for many years especially to the residents of Kisumu and its environs which he says can lead to outbreak of various diseases.

    He further appealed to the contractor to speed up the renovation of the stadium to complete the work within the stipulated time to give room for hosting sports as anticipated.

    "We want Moi Stadium to host premier league and other soccer in the country as well as international matches," he said.

    Ababu moved to assure the soccer fans that Harambee Stars will perfom well ahead of the Confederation of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) matches that is to be held in Uganda in November 2012.

    He said that tussle between the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Chairman, Sam Nyamweya and Nicholas Musonye, Secretary General of CECAFA will not affect the performance of the national team as expressed by the soccer fans.

    The minister aslo revealed that the tournament was to be held held in Kenya but due to some technicalities it was moved to Uganda.

    However, the minister urged the officials to improve the manner in which they govern the soccer activities in the country to raise the standard and performance of the stars.
