    Kenyans are mourning the death of a Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of East Africa Community (EAC) Dr. David Nalo who died after battling with cancer.

    The PS was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital where it is reported that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma cancer when under Intensify Care Unit (ICU) for a week.

    Dr. Nalo was one of the three senior government officials who announced that he was suffering from cancer. He said that he was diagnosed with cancer in December last year and has been under medication since then.

    This made Dr. Nalo to be in the forefront campaigning for establishment of proper cancer facilities in the country. The other two senior government officials who declare that they are suffering from cancer included Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, the Minister for Medical Services and Beth Mugo, minister for Public Health and Sanitation.

    Prof. Nyong’o and Mugo were diagnosed with prostate cancer and breast cancer respectively. The deceased severed in several ministries such as Industrialization, Trade and Industry, Gender and Children and at one point he was also the director for the Kenya Bureau of Statistics (KBS).

    The late PS is reportedly to have left behind a widow and five children and had earlier declared his interest for the seat of the Member of Parliament for Nyando Constituency, Kisumu County of Nyanza region.

    Following his demise his village, Kodero in Tura Sub -Location of Nyando district, Kisumu County is in a state of mourning after the sad news spread like bush fire to his community.

    However, a visit by the journalists found that the entire rural home was engulfed with a somber mood following the pronouncement of his death. But according to the family the burial arrangements have not started.
