Apart from the 12-hour curfew, nothing else reminds of the madness that engulfed the town of Nakuru in January.

Now residents go on with their daily routine although most of the traders claim business is low.

AfricaNews got to interview a tourist who has now decided to make Nakuru his home due to the beauty of the area. His action has gone a long way in showing what Kenyans are always telling foreigners, that `` the country is safe``.

The western press has been accused of showing images of the violence that occurred early in January in their news clip despite a return back to normal life in nearly the whole country.

This selective portrayal of the country has led to a near collapse of the tourism industry which last year raked in nearly $1 billion.
