HRCC gags ambtenaren op homo 's

    Lesbiennes: Kan niet worden verdedigd door de mensenrechtenactivisten in Malawi
    De rechten van de mens Raadgevend Comité (HRCC), een consortium van meer dan 91 mensenrechten-NGO's in Malawi, heeft een van haar ambtenaren van commentaar op de homoseksuele kwesties in het land verboden.
    HRCC, die heeft gewonnen de publieke steun voor de mensenrechten promotiewerk, afgegeven stil het verbod in januari 2010, gedurende welke tijd Malawi werd geplaagd door de kwestie van Tiwonge en Steven Monjeza - van de lidstaat van de Southern African Development Community (SADC) eerste open homo's.
    Een van de rechten van de mens NGO's moeder lichaam aan Zachimalawi geopenbaard dat hij eenmaal (in April 2010 opgeroepen werd) voor commentaar op homo's en lesbiennes kwesties op FM 101.
    HRCC nationale coördinator, Mavuto Bamusi, bevestigd in een interview vandaag (in Malawi Sun Hotel, waar HRCC zijn twee-daagse algemene Meeeting houdt), de ontwikkeling.
    Bamusi zei dat HRCC maakte haar standpunt duidelijk vanaf het begin, "dat wij niet een stand op deze homoseksuele kwesties nemen zal".


    Zelfs homo's zijn niet veilig
    De HRCC secretariaat baas verder betwist dat "niemand" van de groepering de secretariaat zal "ooit" commentaar op homoseksuele kwesties.
    "Onze stand is dat we een no-comment standpunt over homoseksuele kwesties zal nemen. We zullen niet uiten een woord, in support of tegen, over homoseksuele kwesties. In feite, we zijn niet bereid iets te doen aan deze kwesties,"zei Bamusi.
    Vroeg of dit kan niet worden vertaald als 'troonsafstand' van verantwoordelijkheid, Bamusi zei het was aan het Malawische publiek om te oordelen, maar toegevoegd dat HRCC de houding niet kan wijzigen "kom regen of zonneschijn".
