A 34-member transitional government has been announced in Guinea to oversee the movement from military to civilian rule. The body is headed by interim Prime Minister Jean Marie Dore, who was appointed last month by the general in charge of Guinea, Sekouba Konate, according to an official statement.

AfricaNews reporter said Guineans welcomed the new government with hope, satisfaction and enthusiasm. For the first time Guinea has a free handed prime minister who is chief of the government, according to our reporter.
Our reporter said the most satisfactory aspect for the people is the dismissal of those accused of being involved in the crackdown on 28th September 2009 - Commandant Claude Pivi, Commandant Moussa Thiegboro Camara.
