Goma: Une chance de marcher pour les enfants nés handicappés

    Donner la même chance aux enfants vivant avec handicap comme les autres, tel est l'objectif du programme Ponseti initié par Heal Africa. Une fois la semaine plusieurs dizaines d'enfants se rendent dans cet hôpital pour recevoir gratuitement des soins.

    Les enfants vivant avec handicap sont souvent abandonnés par leurs parents qui s'occupent des enfants ‘normaux’. Ils ont peu de chance même d'étudier, déclare Charles Bikulo qui s'occupe de ce programme. Ce programme qui est unique en République Démocratique du Congo produit déjà ses résultats.

    ‘Mon enfant commence à porter des chaussures après la première intervention qu'il a reçue, je suis très contente parce que mon enfant peut aussi se chausser ,chose qui était impossible avant qu'il ne soit admis aux soins’, a affirmé une mère qui amène son enfant aux soins. Selon les statistiques officielles en RDC, un enfant sur mille nouveaux nés a le pied bot.
