Girl (16)rapes six year old boy

  1. A 16-year- old girl has been sentenced to 210 hours of community service after she was found guilty of indecently assaulting her 6-year-old cousin (names supplied).
In the matter presented to Bulawayo magistrate, Miss Tancy Dube, by the prosecutor Mr Lewis Maunze, the accused intentionally indecently assaulted the boy for a period of 4 months.
It is alleged that sometime in April and August 2008, the accused would call the complainant to the bedroom, remove his trousers, touch and fondle his penis.
It was also heard that the girl would sometimes remove her skirt and dance for the complainant whilst naked.
Mr Maunze further told the court that the complainant did not tell anyone about the ordeal until 4 August 2008 when the accused had gone to visit her grandmother.
This is when he told his mother about it.
The accused pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to 6 months in prison with labour of which 3 months were suspended for three years on condition she is not convicted of an offence of this nature. A further three months of imprisonment was suspended on condition that she completes 210 hours of community service at a local primary school.
