Barely forty-eight hours after the French Coach, Claude Le Roy has named his 23 man squad for the 26 MTN Africa Cup of Nations, AfricaNews.com went to town to have a sample view of some soccer loving Ghanaians the Black Stars as now composed for the CAN
    Appiah_ghana.
Mr. Charles Asamoah, Transport Officer said with players like Essien, Muntari, John Mensah, and Laryea Kinston in the team Ghana could move forward and qualify to the finals.

On the part of Mr. Eric Arthur, a businessman, he said Ghana do not have the needed team that would match up to other African countries since the preparations was very poor. “Laryea Kinston is not fully fit to play in the game yet he has been included in the squad which will affect his normal role” he said.

Continuing he said Coach Le Roy should have gotten his first team as far back in September and also have good substitute who might match the first team.

In an interview with Oliver Abomegah, the chances of Ghana are 50-50 looking at the current performances of the various teams taken part in the CAN 2008. “With the injury of Stephen Appiah is going to e difficult looking at his leadership role in the Black Stars”.

Notwithstanding, he said Laryea Kinston, Essien and Suley Muntari would hold the struggle for the team.

“Comparing some of our younger players like Dede Ayew,Anthony Annan,Harrison Afful and the like to other experienced players from different countries its gong to be difficult for our young team” this was what Kwabena Sarfo ,of ABE Ventures said.

He said the coach should have included players like Isaac Boakye, Derek Boateng, and Mark Edusei to hold the attacking since the team needs potent strikers to score the goals.

According to Abraham Amon, the injury of Stephen Appiah has been a big blow to the entire nation but much as God is on our side they would do their best as there are other players to play his role.

On his view on the squad he said player like Asamoah Gyan should not have been in the team since he squanders more chances at the goal mouth. “For now I cannot say Ghana can win the cup until I watch the first two games” he said.

On the part of Kobby Omane Baah said the coach knows the performances of every player that is why he has selected the 23 man team. “The team is good but the midfield might be very weak with the absence of Appiah”.

He said the team now needs strikers who ought to be goal minded when the chances come on their way.

Looking very religious Miss Ama Ataa said with God on the side of the Black Stars the team would finally win the cup for the 5th time.
