Ghana's World Cup star Kevin-Prince Boateng is a major doubt against Sudan as they get ready for their next 2012 African Nations Cup qualifiers on October 10. The AC Milan midfielder is suffering from a strain in the thigh after their weekend game and the West Africans have come up with a backup plan.

If Boateng fails to make it for the game it would be a great opportunity missed to play at home for the first time after switching allegiance from Germany to Ghana before the 2010 World Cup.
Care-taker coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed the news and revealed that Ghana premier league side AshantiGold midfielder Sampson Cudjoe has been drafted in as the medics monitor Boateng’s progress.
Also goalkeeper Daniel Agyei of Liberty Professionals has been called up to increase the number of local players in the squad to four.
