Ghana console with bronze medal

    At least the Black Stars of Ghana has something to cheer about by wining the bronze medal at the African Cup of Nations. The match that was played in the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi saw some encouraging crowd at the stadium.

    Already before the team arrived at the Kumasi Airport, thousands of Ghanaians including school children had thronged to welcome them telling them to put behind the defeat of Cameroon at their back.

    The first goal of the game came from the boot of Portsmouth striker Sulley Ali Muntari, in 10 minute when he fired a 25 yard free kick into the Ivorian post.

    Ivorians equalized in the 24 minute through Boubacar Sanogo when Didier Drogba first attempt was saved by Goalkeeper Richard Kinston. The Ivorians on a quick break added the second goal making it two through the same Boubacar Sanogo.

    An equalizer from Seville star Quicy Owusu Abeyie and others from Manuel Agogo and Haminu Dramani sealed the day for the Black Stars.
