Ghana: 150 Black Britons return to invest

    One hundred and fifty Black Britons will return home to the West African country of Ghana for a two-week familiarization visit in some selected communities. They are also scheduled to engage in some business transactions, education, investments, cultural and historical tours.

    The initiative is dubbed: “Back to our Roots” tour will open the minds of the Diasporas with culture, historical, business and investment opportunities that exist within the Africa continent. The project is under the auspices of London Elite Forum (LEF), BJ Production and Bubbles VIP based in the United Kingdom.

    London Elite Forum is a collection of top London promoters, social and business entrepreneurs that are working together for the benefit of others. The Forum has come up with a three-year project aimed at bringing Africans from across the Diaspora back to their ancestral home - Gambia, Ghana and South Africa.

    “Most Africans suffered from the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade many years ago, but others have the notion that the continent of Africa is their only true home hence the need for them to return with their experiences and skills gained from the West and Europe to assist development,” a statement from the Forum said.

    The organizer of the project Erran Warden, Founder LEF told AfricaNews some British-born national and Diasporans are seeking an alternative place to establish themselves other than the United Kingdom, Europe and America but often do not have the know-how or contacts to fully explore overseas opportunities.

    “Through the international network, partnerships established will assist by offering advice, guidance expertise and acquired knowledge to assist in getting charitable products, business ideas realized,” he said.

    According to Warden among the aims of the programme are to facilitate learning and self development, provide training and create opportunities for young and upcoming entrepreneurs and professions to develop both in the UK and abroad.

    “The Forum is currently establishing an international network that will enable members to gain access to social, cultural, business and investment opportunities outside of the UK”.

    The visitors would be visiting historic sites in Ghana.
