FIFA Ranking: Ghana is 23 worldwide

    West African nation Ghana moved to the 23rd spot in the latest FIFA ranking released on Wednesday. They are now second best in Africa after moving up nine places following some wonderful performances in previous meetings. Egypt are still first in Africa and moved up two places to be 9th worldwide.

    Cameroon were dealt a heavy blow moving from 19th position to 40th after a woeful World Cup outing.

    Ivory Coast moved up one place occupying the 26th position whilst Nigeria slipped to the 30th position from 21st.

    In the top rungs of the ranking, Brazil have been toppled by World Champions Spain as the number one ranked football nation in the World.

    Brazil is now third after the Netherlands who was beaten by Spain in the World Cup Final.
