FACE THE KNIFE?*

  1. FACE THE KNIFE?*

I believe that reason is a sovereign ruler, and I am concerned that it’s misruling the lead to run for circumcision in some communities of Kenya.
Traditionally, the Luo do not circumcise their men. Instead, they have their own way to perform initiation rites by either six tooth removal or skin tattooing. This has always been an issue among Kenyan communities against the Luo manhood. Besides, it has created an obsession for male circumcision among many communities like the Kikuyu and Lughya.

It has never been thought before that an African man would talk about his privacy in public, show off their nakedness and go to an extent of talking about his penis and sort of things bravely. But recently, the Prime Minister (from Luo community) launched a campaign to have Luo men circumcised with reason to reduce spread of HIV/AIDS.

According to medical researchers, it’s openly true that male circumcision reduces chances of HIV infection. But should this be the only reason to give the unwilling uncircumcised man to lure him. NO! I don’t think so. The issue should not be HIV/AIDS prevention; the issue should be importance of circumcision. There are endless important reasons both cultural and healthy, of circumcision to give to our men apart from the cat puller reason which is definitely true.

Look ... as everyone is campaigning against spread of HIV/AIDS through Circumcision, who will remain to campaign against it by fighting forceful circumcision, using unsterilized tools and of course gear sexual responsibility?
Let’s make it clear to the Luo men that circumcision is 100% percent healthy and important. And not to make it worse on sexual irresponsibility issues by making it an AIDS campaign. Don’t you think of what will happen after they all get circumcised with a reason in mind to prevent HIV infection? Come on! Let’s educate each other wisely. It’s not only the uncircumcised but all African men to get more civilized education on reproductive health related to Circumcision. Let’s also do away with the traditional blades used on everyone, the quacks circumcisers, the myths and unproven stories, and the publicity.

All in all, thumbs up for the Luo men who are making the step. It’s worth.

VALUE YOUR HEALTH. NOT YOU’RE PLEASURES.
