Ernst Schade: Guinea-Bissau

  1. Ernst Schade
Photographer Ernst Schade recently travelled to Guinea-Bissau. He made this photoseries there.
    Guinea-Bissau, Bolama
This is what Ernst Schade says about this series: "My fourth visit to magnificent Guinea-Bissau. This time with five friends, a real holiday and less focused on photography (for the first time fully on digital). Despite the continuing political unstability, travellling proved to be very safe indeed while the renowned hospitality of the 'Guineense' people gave our trip an extra dimension.

For the readers who would like to undertake a similar journey to a virtually unspoilt country, do have a look at www.binobaibissau.nl".

Also see the website of Ernst Schade for more of his work.

Heart-warming pictures, and as you note, a welcome departure from the constant stream of dreadful news coverage pouring out of Africa. Since I rarely travel far from my Barcelona apartment, I always appreciate photographers who focus on the people of a region rather than strictly it's geography and politics.
