Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor, the Togolese born forward, who trades his football skills with English Premier League club, Manchester City has mentioned that he is not likely to be part of the Togolese National Squad that soon.

According to an interview he granted Togofootballnews.com Adebayor dismissed rumours of an imminent return to Togo’s Sparrow Hawks. The 26-year-old said his decision to quit the Sparrow Hawks was his to make and he will be the one to decide to reverse it or not.

“My no to Togo is emphatic. I decided to quit the squad all alone. To come back, I would have to decide all alone as well,” Adebayor said.

Togo’s sports minister said earlier he believed Adebayor was taking some time to think about an imminent return to the team, which quickly led to speculation across the West African nation that he would likely feature in the 2012 AFCON qualifier against Tunisia on Saturday, October 9.

Adebayor retired from international football on April 12, 2010, after Togo team’s bus came under a gunfire attack in the Angolan town of Cabinda, on the way to the 2010 African Cup of Nations tournament, which held last January - February in Angola. Three people were killed, including two players of the Togolese national team, the driver of the bus carrying the players from their DR Congo camping base to Angola and nine injured.
