"ECOWAS is moving forward"


  1. Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma has told ECOWAS peace pageant contestants from the 15 ECOWAS member states that the regional body is now moving forward from a period of instability to democracy.

    The President was speaking during the presentation of the 15 supermodels at State House by the Ghanian event management group 702 productions and Government officials.

    “The hosting of this year’s Peace Pageant in my country is a plus to Sierra Leone. The theme for this year’s event which is: Peace building and Development is very appropriate” President Koroma said.

    He added: “let me thanked the organizers for this initiative which is timely.” Koroma maintained that: “ECOWAS is now moving forward from a period of instability to a period of democracy. Some countries are now going through the process that will eventually bring lasting peace.” The President expressed hope that the 15 contestants will turn-out to be ambassadors when they go to their various countries.

    One of the contestants from Ivory Coast who spoke on behalf of her colleagues assured the President that they “will live to tell the stories about Sierra Leone.”

    After careful consideration, the small West African state (Sierra Leone) was given the right to host the coveted event. The event which will take place this Saturday, November 13 at The Miatta Conference Center is expected to attract lots of personalities including the ECOWAS President according to report.

    “This is a unique opportunity to showcase our hotels and beaches to the outside world that Sierra Leone is safe and good to do business,” said Ajara Bomah, who was spokesperson for the organizers.
