DR Congo humiliates Djibouti 6-0

    The DRC scored 6 away goals to romp past minnows Djibouti on Friday and win a second successive World Cup qualifier. Belgian-based Dieumerci Mbokani and Zola Matumona both scored twice and Shabani Nonda added another as the Congolese joined Egypt at the head of the standings.

    Tresor Mputu added the sixth goal as Djibouti tally of goals conceded in the qualifiers stretched to 18 goals.

    Congo now has 6 points from 3 games while Egypt play their third game on Saturday at Malawi.

    Meanwhile Burkina Faso kept up their winning run with a difficult 3-2 triumph over hosts Seychelles in Victoria on Saturday.

    Dagano opened the scoring for Burkina Faso and got two more in the second half as Burkina Faso fought back from a 2-1 deficit against their Indian Ocean island hosts.

    The result kept up their 100 percent record in the African qualifying zone Group 9, 6 points ahead of Burundi and Tunisia. Seychelles has lost all 3 of its group games.
