Cultural Pride Week in Sierra Leone

    The Ministery of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has officially launched the National Cultural Pride Week at a ceremony held at the National Stadium Brookfields.

    The Executive Director Attitudinal and Behavioural Change secretariat Philip Conteh said culture is the way of life, noting that “the diversities of cultures in the country has made us more unique.”

    A representative of the Sierra Leone Traditional Healers Association Chief Alimamy Sesay N’buma thanked the ABC Secretariat for organizing the programme and for recognizing the importance role of the Sierra Leone traditional Association towards furtherance of this nation.

    Chief Alimamy Sesay called on government to support them so that traditional healers will have respect in the country and emphasized the need to instill discipline.
    Launching the Cultural Pride Week the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Hindolo Trye spoke of the need for self integrity which he said should be the foundation for attitudinal change.

    Mr. Trye called all to use the cultural Pride Week as a week of reflection and emphasized the need to protect and promote our culture.

    The Cultural Pride Week is part of activities lined-up in commemoration of the country’s 48 th National Independence Anniversary, April 27th.
