Could this woman really be 136 years?

  1. A woman in the former Malawian capital Zomba Enala Harry Mponda claims to be 136 years old making her six years older than Sakhan Dosova of Kazakhstan who died may last year aged 130 after slipping in a bath tub.
Malawian authorities have however said they can presently not come to the world to authenticise the claim as it currently does not have documentary and scientific evidence.
While in Dosova’s case there was a lot of aunthetic documntary evidence, Mponda’s claim now awaits a scientific approval as she was born in a primitive set up when Malawi had no state cesus systeams.
However some historians say if at all what the woman is saying is not from her immagination, she could really be 136 years old as she claims.
Alex Pondani a 104 year old man from the malawina southern region District of Neno said that while he had the opportunity to go to school at an early age most of the stories that Mponda has been telling show that she was born a generation older than his.
He said that it was a historical fact that the most of the Mlalawian Lomwes migrated to Malawi from Mozambique around 1893 and if Mponda could really have been among these immigrants she was supposed to be at a good age to walk on her own.
However Malawin minister of the eldery and people with disabilities Reen Kachere said in an interview it was too early for authorities to start claiming of the existence of the world oldest person in Mlalawi without documentary and scientific evidence.
She said that at times when people are growing old they might have some illusions of their child hood and Mponda’s claim can only be auntheciated with scientific evidence.
Mc Serrics Mponda, the revered son however said according to family records kept by his uncle James Bisani who was literate indicate that his mother was born on February 2,1873.
