China, Africa trade increase in 2010

    Trade between China and Africa has increased from 43.5% in the first 11 months of 2010, according to a Chinese government report on the economic ties between the Asian giant and the black continent.

    From 1 January to 30 November 2010, trade reached 114.8 billion dollars (87.7 billion euros) from January to November 2010; an increase over 40% compared to last year during the same period, according to estimates released in an official report.

    The Asian power, through more than 1500 companies, has invested, including through facilitating access to exploitation of soil or subsoil, in various sectors in Africa: trade, construction and public works, agriculture, mining, manufactures products ...

    Trade between China and Africa has experienced an annual average growth rate of 33.5% between 2000 and 2008. China became the largest trading partner in Africa in 2009.

    The Asian giant has invested 9.3 billion dollars during the period 2000-2009, particularly in agriculture and mining.

    During this period, China also canceled the $ 2.9 billion debts of 35 African countries.
