Cameroon held to a draw by Tanzania

    The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon were Saturday 14 June 2008 held to a 0-0 draw by Tanzania in a match for the ongoing joint qualifiers for the World Cup and African Nations Cup. The draw stops the Indomitable Lions' winning spree since the start of the qualifiers.

    However, the Indomitable Lions still lead group 1 with seven points from three games and Tanzania remain in third place.

    But the result was a riposte from Tanzania coach, Marcio Maximo, who has been under strong pressure from fans and the media.

    Meanwhile African champions Egypt suffered a shock set-back in their bid to qualify for the 2010 World and Nations Cups, when they were beaten by Malawi.
    Hassan Shehata's team looked to have held on for a 0-0 draw, until stoppage time at the end of the game.

    But in the third minute of time added on Chiukepo Msowoya grabbed the goal which gave the Flames a famous victory and put them on top of group 12.
    Malawi, DR Congo and Egypt all have six points from three games, with Malawi top on goal difference.

    The Pharaohs, reigning African champions, are down in third, and facing a real battle to get into the next round of qualifying.

    In Kigali, Rwanda kept up their 100 percent record in group 8 with a big win over Morocco.

    3-1 was the final score in Kigali, with Elias Ntaganda getting the opener in the 14th minute.

    The lead was doubled after 13 minutes of the second half thanks to Bogota Labama.

    Morocco's Youssef Safri gave the Atlas Lions hope of getting something from the game with a goal 10 minutes from time.

    But the Amavubi made sure of all three points when Olivier Karekezi got their third in the final minute of the game.

    Uganda Angola to level on points with the 2010 Nations Cup hosts and Benin in group 3.

    Angola retain the lead in the group on goal difference.

    Kenya beat Zimbabwe to give themselves a great chance of making it to the second stage of 2010 qualifying.

    The Harambee Stars beat the visiting Warriors by two goals to nil, scored by McDonald Mariga and Dennis Oliech.

    The result puts Kenya at the top of group 2, with six points from three games.
    Botswana stays top of group 7 after a 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast.
