The Botswana President Ian Tseretse Kharma has unveiled his government is ready to fund the whole election re-run in Zimbabwe. Speaking on national television, he said Botswana is not part of the quiet diplomacy employed by other leaders saying its time for such tactics fast expired long time ago.

Apparently the issue of election re- run is not on President Robert Mugabe’s agenda as he claims he won the abandoned elections.

Kharma said his government is willing to fund the election re-run any time and probably oversee the democratic process to ensure it goes in general favour of Zimbabwean people.

“We want Zimbabwe people to be given back their full rights to vote and choose a leader of their choice, we are not in a mood of using any quiet diplomacy, we would not engage in any discussions with Zimbabwe government, time for such tactics fast expired long time ago,” he said.

“It is not time for discussion but favourable action and movement; we have done the talking and it is time we get Zimbabwe people back to work,” he said.

Currently some political activists have condemned the whole power sharing exercise saying it is not a good idea to keep both government and opposition in one basket.
Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai are failing to agree on the power-sharing deal particularly on the disputed key ministerial positions.

Meanwhile South Africa and Libya announced recently that they have cut their aid to Harare. More reports indicate that 800 people have died of Cholera outbreak which has so far hit over 12, 000 people. And this is attributed to the lack of organization in the government system.
