Botswana FA in search of CEO

    The Botswana Football Association is on a wild hunt for a new Chief Executive Officer after dismissing its former boss, Tosh Kgotlele last week on bribery grounds.

    Kgotlele has been on a seven-month suspension for an alleged match fixing scandal when the Botswana national team played China back in September 2009.

    BFA current president David Fani told journalists that a committee which found Kgotlele guilty took into consideration bribe offers to the Botswana national team in China. He was investigated on six charges - two charges of failure to adhere to procedure, three charges of concealment/withholding vital information from the NEC and one charge of dishonesty.

    Meanwhile, Kgotlele told AfricaNews he accepts the charges but would tell his side of the story later.

    BFA sources say former CEO, Thabo Ntshinogang might find his way back to the association. It is widely believed within the Botswana governing body that the National Executive Council have indicated their interest to have Ntshinogang back at Likidi (Botswana football Centre).

    Ntshinogang was the CEO of BFA until 2007 and has also served as a senior Sports Development Officer at Botswana National Sports Council. Some former BNSC employees among them Leviet Ntwaagae is also a close contender for the post.
