Barack Obama visits Ghana in July

    The President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, is expected to pay a two-day state visit to Ghana in July. The president would be accompanied by his wife, Michelle Obama and other government officials. The US President and his delegation will also visit the Cape Coast Castle in Ghana.

    A press statement issued by the Ghana Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra noted that Barack Obama would be in Ghana from Friday, 10th to Saturday, 11th July, 2009.

    “During his visit, President Obama will hold bilateral talks with his Ghanaian counterpart, President John Evans Atta Mills, aimed at strengthening the fraternal relations existing between the two countries,” the statement said.
