Barack Obama can save Kenya!!!!!

  1. Hello to you who enjoy reading my views and opinion on topical issues especially those concerning Africa. Like you may know or have realized, Im first an African before anything else. So the current trends of occurrences in Kenya really live me dumb. And for the moment no one seems to have any solution to the problem. Not even the politicians themselves who brought this to this beloved country, seen before as the real hope of democracy in Africa after South Africa of course. Kenya is up in flames as tribes go against each other, and I wonder why the world is not doing a lot to help. Yes Kofi Anan may be there, but just today, a legislator from the opposition ODM was shot dead, and more than 60 people reported dead from the towns of Nakuru and Naivasha. So the big Question is. WHO CAN BRING SANITY TO KENYA, IF ANAN CAN’T? AND BOTH KIBAKI AND ODINGA DON’T WANT TO RESIGN???????? I strongly believe that if these two men hid their pride for the sake of the nation and resigned, things would surely come to “normal’. There are many able politicians in Kenya who can neutralize this. Having lived there for two years I know what im talking about. But because this is not coming to pass. Allow me to suggest a solution to this mess. The answer to Kenya’s problem now, is Senator Barack Obama.Yes I said Mr. Obama the democrat candidate of the USA.Mr Obama has a lot of respect world wide and in Kenya its even unbelievable, that the day he decided to visit his original mother country(Kenya)for the first time, it was declared a public holiday.

Mr. Obama, cutting short his campaigns for a while and fly down to Kenya for a day or two would really save lives. And I believe and trust the American people would even support him more if he achieved this. Not only is it a step forward into his foreign policy as American has a lot of interests in the country, but a basic humanitarian turning point. This sounds really impossible and unachievable (having Obama abandon his campaign for Kenya),but I believe it can be effected if only we surely do believe in the democracy we preach. The reason I choose on Obama is obvious, first he has a connection with the country, and the most important thing is that his has the RESPECT, INTELLECT, CAPACITY and ABILITY to do so. As for the WILL and SPIRIT im not sure. But Mr. Obama is a credible person whom I have faith in that he has the spirit and the will to do this. May be he has not only thought of it as he is busy with the campaigns. But this is a call for humanity. And if he can only say read this hopefully, a life may be saved in Kenya. It’s so ashaming to see Kenya go down this way, something never thought of before.
Hoping that this may be gets to Mr. Obama or some one who shares a word with him, I will call it a day and wish you all the best.
    Chris in Kampala
