Another Kenyan minister resigns

    Danson Mungatana, Member of Parliament for Garsen in Kenya has resigned from the cabinet as an assistant minister for medical services on Tuesday. His resignation comes less than 24 hours after Former Justice Minister Martha Karua also resigned citing impediments in execution of her ministerial duties.

    Mungatana made it clear that his decision to resign was due to issues regarding reforms and the grand coalition government.

    “I would like to thank President Kibaki for having appointed me to serve as assistant minister for medical services. However, the development of Monday where the chair of Narc-Kenya resigned her position as justice minister, makes it difficult for me as secretary to serve in the same government she has left” Mungatana said.

    He comes from the same party as Martha Karua, Nark Kenya. But other members of their party are still in the government.

    President Mwai Kibaki who is currently out of the country will find a government with a void upon his return.

    A lot might be happening in the coming days as the citizens watch who will resign next or what might happen regarding new appointees to fill the vacant slots.
