Anita Nyantakyiwaa is a documentary filmmaker of Ghanaian origin who lives in London. Currently she produces programmes for a popular African Caribbean satellite television station based in London.
She has produced and directed documentaries on the Pan African historical theatre Festival [PANAFEST] in Ghana and a documentary looking at the festivals of the Akan people of Ghana. She has also covered the Zimbabwe International film Festival and directed a short documentary on post-apartheid South Africa.
She has also produced a one off special programme during Ghana Black Stars first match at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Anita gained an honours degree in Film and Video at the University College for the Creative Arts in Farnham, Surrey in the United Kingdom. Her first short film Know Thyself looked into what spirituality meant from the perspectives of women of African descent in London. She currently produces and presents a film programme that gives exposure to the work of African Diasporan filmmakers in the U.K.
Anita is also developing a documentary due to start filmming in Ghana in 2008
