Visitors of the mobile website can also send in their own news tips and contributions to the editorial team by using the ‘News Tip’ application. Everyone can now report the latest news from anywhere in Africa!

This mobile website is realised by GNR8, a student company of the Hogeschool Inholland, based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The students work on different creative projects for companies in their region.

That's a good news. I would love to give some specific suggestions on how to push forward this adventure.

    1) The editorial team should set up a score mark for reporting to encourage reporters to work more. I thought of something like, "Reporter of the Month", where the winner's photo will appear on the home page throughout the month.

    2) A presscard bearing AfricaNews logo for every proven reporter of AfricaNews. This will bring some credibility and give courage to dare certain arena for reports.

    3) An email address for the AfricaNews should be allowed for reporters. This will be exposing the site the more. Something like: kingsley.kobo@africanews.com

    4) There should be some interaction between the editorial team and reporters. I've discovered that questions forwarded by reporters to the team are hardly replied. There is a dead silence between reporters and the editorial team. I believe from time to time, reporters should been greeted with surprising and encouraging emails.
    Thanks and long live AfricaNews.

I support Kingsley's suggestions except the first one. I don't think it should be a priority, for we all know our efforts irrespective of any kind of award being conferred on us.

The issue of presscard as reasoned by Kingsley is quite necessary. Many a time people, especially my sources would demand identification to show the organisation I work for. Thank God the site is becoming well known here in Hungary where I write from. It could as well boost the image of AfricaNews in the sense that readers, sources may begin to see the organisation as a very serious one. If it is approved, AfricaNews may be the first online magazine to do so.

I also agree with him on the issue of interaction between the editorial team and reporters. I've written one or two letters directly to them without any answer. Well, this may be the editorial policy.

All in all, Congrats AfricaNews and long live
