Traveling solo as an African woman [Travel on TMC]

I have seen several female bloggers writing about their experiences, basically challenges of travelling around the world solo.

Most of them from the western world. But I guess the experience might be a bit different for the dark skinned woman, more so traveling around the African continent.

Aside from the diversity it has to offer, there are also some constraints.

In some cultures , being a woman means you have to follow certain rules, as a tourist, most times you have to abide by these rules to avoid problems with the locals. In some parts of Morocco for instance women don’t go inside cafés, likewise in some Muslim countries women are expected to cover their hair, hands, legs or their entire bodies.

Well it’s not all a bed of roses, those who’ve gone along the part have shared their experiences. Yasmine Ferdjani, an African female blogger (@layasmeen on instagram), writes about tourist destinations and she’s visited quite a number of places around the world. Yasmine joined us on The Morning Call to share part of her experience.
