The family of Mohamed Al-Khatim is about to travel to the United States, as Donald Trump’s anti-immigration decree has been suspended.
Sudanese family determined to move to U.S
This family from Sudan fears that the protectionist policy of the new US president created a hostile atmosphere for immigrants.
“I come from a country
which has suffered from political, ideological and ethnic divisions. So in the United States, if my son is questioned about his religion at school, I think that the best thing to do will be to stay away. ”
A month ago, the couple who had obtained a U.S. visa had given up hopes on dreams following the travel ban by Trump on January 27 temporarily prohibiting them from entry to the US.
Seven countries including Sudan was directly affected by this ban.
“The past 27 or 28 years, Sudan has shown no indication of progress in any field. So to ensure a good future for my son and the sons we will be have in the future, God willing, I think that the United States is better in all areas, be it education or health”,said the wife of Mohamed al-Khatim.
The family who gave up their apartment in Khartoum now prepares to live in Denvers in the United States where they will take English courses for a few months, in order to seek for job.
