Joseph Kabila's last day in office [The Morning Call]

It is unknown what will become of the democratic republic of Congo in the coming weeks as incumbent president Joseph Kabila’s term comes to an end today. While residents have packed up food and general supplies in anticipation for civil disturbance, paramilitary personnel and policemen were deployed over the weekend in known volatile areas of the country. According to Jean-Marc Kabunda, secretary-general for the union for democracy and social progress party of the main opposition leader, Etienne Tshisekedi, no deal has been reached upon between the ruling coalition and them.
