Gambia jailed opposition leader released [The Morning Call]

Just days after a surprising election outcome in The Gambia, a top opposition figure, Ousainou Darboe, leader of the United Democratic Party has been freed on bail with 18 others who were jailed for taking part in a peaceful protest in April. They each had been sentenced to three years in prison after they marched for electoral reform and to demand the body of party member Solo Sandeng, who was arrested days earlier and was tortured and died in prison.Could this be the beginning of reforms in the West African country?
