Uneasy calm returns to Cameroon's Bamenda city [The Morning Call]

Bamenda city, the capital of Cameroon’s NorthWest Region has been the center of clashes between demonstrators and security forces at the beginning of the week. It began with a group of English speaking lawyers who took to the streets, to protest against the use of French in courts and the lack of English versions of some legal acts and codes. Anglophone teachers in the region followed suite with demands of the withdrawal of francophone teachers from anglophone schools in the Southwest and Northwest regions of the country.
