Egypt's leading E-gaming group wins 5th prize at Jakarta World Championship

Egypt’s leading E-gaming group, Anubis Gaming, has jumped onto the international stage winning 5th prize at the Jakarta World Championship.

After showcasing their worth during local competitions, the group of young Egyptians is hoping to represent the Middle East in future International e-Gaming competitions.

Launched in 2015 in a small apartment in Cairo’s leafy Zamalek neighbourhood, five university students trained a minimum of three hours a day to be part of the multi-million-dollar e-Gaming business.

“The funding is out of my own pocket and even though I’m losing a lot of money, I believe that this has a bright future and I have high hopes for these players. I do not care much about my financial losses now, because I know that in the end, it will bring me something that people in the future who try this will not have,” founder and CEO of ANUBIS Gaming, Youssef Mohsen said.

Anubis has generated lots of interest among gamers in Egypt.

Over a two-day period, it received over 1,000 applications for membership, from students to working individuals all over the country.
