Africa wakes up to The Morning Call on Africanews

Africanews’ flagship programme, The Morning Call, ushers the continent its first package of bilingual interactive morning show every weekday.

Ranging from politics, business, sports to entertainment, the French and English programme covers the top news stories and events in Africa with live interviews to offer in-depth analyses of issues.

Co-hosted by Kenyan Robert Kodingo and Nigerien Hannane Ferdjani, The Morning Call will dig deeper for information with the help of correspondents and experts across Africa.

Robert Kodingo, English-speaking host of the programme, outlined the readiness of the team to deliver a quality programme that speaks for Africa and to Africa.

“I am African and our duty is to speak to Africa from the villages and towns to the cities. This is a new experience and we are facing it with proper training and planning to perfect the concept for our eager audience,” Robert said.

For Hannane Ferdjani, the French-speaking host, they are ready to set the tone of Africa on a daily basis with fresh, modern and original content.

“There is no programme like the Morning Call and that is our leverage point for success. With gradual improvement and thirst for results, we will be the most watched morning show in Africa,” Hannane said.

The first show will be aired live on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from Africanews studio in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo.
