Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo thanked Juventus fans who applauded his stunning bicycle kick goal against the Italian side on Tuesday and said he had been hoping for a long time to score in such spectacular fashion.
Ronaldo posted a video online saying, “It’s something that stays in your heart…I want to thank all the Italians who were here in the stadium and applauded me.”
Madrid’s coach said that Ronaldo is a ‘different player’ and that he scored one of the most beautiful goals in the history of soccer.
“Cristiano (Ronaldo) is a different player because he always does this type of things. I am happy for him and, most of all, we should be happy for having Cristiano in our team,” said Real coach Zinedine Zidane.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, on the other hand, wished his team had found Ronaldo on an off-night.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said: “Cristiano Ronaldo scored an extraordinary goal. I would say that, without detracting other players, he’s been the best forward in the world for a couple of years now. He plays this role and I can only compliment him for what he did.”
Real Madrid managed to crash the Italian side three goals to nil with the second leg yet to be played at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
