German’s Lucas Cartensen of the Bike Aid team on Monday won the first round of Tropical Amissa Bongo, the Gabonese Cycling Tour.
Three men dominated the day, Lucas Carstensen who took the coveted honor, Frenchman Adrien petit, the title holder of the 2016 edition and second runner up, Algerian Youcef regigi.
The 146 kilometer race begun from the town of Kango to Lambaréné.
The second course was on 175 kilometer stretch between two towns in southern Gabon, Ndendé and Fougamou,
Once again, the race favoured experienced sprinters.
Tropical Amissa Bongo will end on January 21, with a stop on the streets of Libreville, the Gabonese capital.
