The Morning Call
The fourth round of the inter-Burundian dialogue in Arusha, Tanzania, ended in a deadlock on Tuesday. For the past ten days, Burundi’s political actors from opposing sides had worked hard on the eight
agenda items selected by the facilitation team and exchanged their documents as planned. The peace talks however were unable to yield any results. Burundi plunged into a political crisis since April 2015
when President Pierre Nkurunziza officially announced his candidacy for the presidential elections that he won in July 2017.
