Republic of the Congo
Congolese security forces killed at least 14 members of the separatist sect Bundu dia Kongo (BDK) on Monday during clashes in the capital Kinshasa and southwestern city of Matadi, police spokesman Pierrot Mwanamputu said.
The clashes followed an attack by BDK members on Kinshasa’s main prison, in which 12 members of the sect were killed, and a demonstration against Democratic Republic of Congo President Joseph Kabila in Matadi that turned violent, witnesses and security sources said.
