An international arrest warrant has been issued for Francois Compaore, brother of ousted Burkinabe President Blaise Compaore over the assassination of the investigative journalist in 1998.

According to a lawyer of the family of the deceased, the arrest warrant was issued on May 5, 2017 following a request from the office of the prosecutor.
